Don’t let me do all the talking, join in on the food conversation and send me a message. Have a recipe you love and want me to feature on the site? Maybe a must-try restaurant? Send your suggestions, questions, and comments my way by completing the form below. I look forward to hearing from you!
I happened to stumble upon your blog and I was just wondering how you got an internship with food network? I love to cook but have not gone to culinary school. Is that a requirement for working for them? Any insight will help! Thanks :]
Hi Chelsea,
I’m not sure if it is a technical requirement, but coming from culinary school is a desired requirement, as they are looking for people with a solid understanding of food and cooking and it’s very competetive, but i’m sure if you have other professional level experience with food you would be a qualified candidate. I know that my school has a relationship with the Food Network so there is a referral process which is a huge help in the door, but you never know until you try!
Hi there!
My name is Ashley Owen and I’m a casting assistant for Jennifer Sullivan Casting. We are currently casting a new untitled food pilot for a major cable network and are searching for a team of hosts who are big foodies! As we believe many of your followers may be ideal applicants for this project, we hope that you will help us spread the word about this opportunity to your followers. Additionally, if you yourself are interested, we would love for you to apply!
Essentially we are looking for the following:
• Two hosts – it would be preferable if they have a pre-existing relationship (co-workers, friends, family members, etc.), but we are accepting individual applicants as well
• Major foodies. Must be able to speak in-depth and show a true love & appreciation for food
• Enthusiastic and humorous personalities
We will be conducting interviews in the near future. Anyone who is interested in applying should email us at castingfoodies@gmail.com with the following information:
1. Names
2. Contact information (emails and phone numbers)
3. Location
4. Recent photos of both teammates
5. Resumes (be sure to note any TV experience)
6. Links to any relevant videos or blog posts
7. Personal statement about your relationship dynamic & why you’re right for the show
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
Best,
Ashley Owen
